Creative 40 Acres celebrates extracurricular creative art-making and cultural expression by UT students wherever it flourishes on our campus. Sponsored by the College of Fine Arts and the Dean of Students, this new organization encourages originality and creativity, fosters student initiative and leadership, celebrates the cultural diversity of the campus community and cultivates the cultural and commercial value of students’ original artistic work.
Creative 40 Acres is reorganizing, and we need your help. This is your campus and your art, so we want to give the creative power of the Creative 40 Acres to you. We’re looking for highly motivated, self-starting students to become our inaugural C40A Leadership Cohort. These students will work closely with university administration to define the organization, take charge of recruitment and outreach, market campus and student art and events, manage official C40A social media presence and set the standard for future C40A student leaders. To support the selected students who give their time to building this organization, we are offering a stipend of $1500 per semester per one-year leadership term. Office space in in the Fine Arts Library, DFA 4.200, will also be provided.
Leadership cohort applications for the 2015-2016 academic year are now closed. Please keep an eye on our website and our social media to find out about future involvement opportunities.
